Dr Christoph Hermann Kuhn

In 1962 Dr Kuhn graduated from The University of Cape Town with an MBChB. During the period 1964 to 1967 he served as a Surgical Registrar at Groote Schuur Hospital, mainly as Registrar and Senior Registrar. In the late sixties Dr Kuhn was medical officer at Old Mutual Head Office, Pinelands and from 1970 to 1974 he was the Medical Officer at Guarantee Life Assurance, becoming deputy General Manager. Following this he was Medical Officer and Assistant General Manager for Hollandia Life Reassurance Company Limited. In addition to being Chairman of the CICL Board, Dr Kuhn currently serves as the Chairman of Constantia Life and Health Assurance Company Limited and Constantia Life Limited.

Jason Dean Druian

Jason formed the Altmedia Group (49% held by Clear Channel Independent (Pty) Ltd ("Clear Channel")), at the time the leading ambient media player in Africa, in 1998. The group had operations in South Africa, Australia and 5 African countries. He served as CEO and Chairman until February 2005, when he joined Conduit Capital. Jason remained Non-Executive Chairman of Altmedia, during which time he successfully negotiated the sale of Altmedia's South African operations to Primedia Ltd, after already having disposed of the African operations to Clear Channel. As CEO of Conduit Capital, Jason has overseen a recapitalisation programme and the acquisition of a number of businesses by the group. His active involvement at subsidiary level has also resulted in the streamlining of the group through the disposal of a number of non-core and unprofitable assets. Jason became the CEO of Constantia Insurance Company Limited, Conduit Capital's largest subsidiary by turnover and net asset value, in February 2012.

Guy Peter Wayne

Guy obtained his CA qualification from the University of Natal in 1966, whilst working as a trainee accountant for Deloitte & Touche. He was appointed as a manager in 1966, and then went on to join the firm as a partner in 1969. Guy was the Kwa-Zulu Natal technical audit partner for 30 years, whilst also serving on several boards in the capacity of either Chairman or Director. He retired as a partner on 31 May 2005 and he still actively serves on the boards of various listed and unlisted companies.

Tim J Fearnhead

Tim is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and having qualified in 1972, spent a year overseas travelling and working. He returned to South Africa in 1974 where he resumed his professional career, becoming a partner in Pim Whiteley & Close, a firm which ultimately became the one-half of the Deloitte firm of South Africa. He was transferred to Botswana in 1977 to open an office for the firm and spent 8½ years there, growing the practice to 3 partners and some 20 staff. He returned to South Africa in 1985 and became the Head of the Entrepreneur Services Division in the Johannesburg office of Deloitte. In 1994 he was elected by his partners to the Board of Deloitte, serving as a board member until he left the firm in 1997. Tim then joined Nedbank as National Executive of Nedbank Private Bank and later served in the positions of Divisional Financial Officer of the Retail Division and the Risk Cluster. He was responsible for the management of the Nedbank Group Insurance Company which included 2 captive insurance companies. He obtained a Higher Diploma in Advanced Banking at Rand Afrikaans University (now UJ) during his time at Nedbank

Tim left Nedbank in 2006 to join a start-up reinsurance broker, but the overseas shareholders decided to close this down in 2007 and he then to set up his own consulting/training business in association with BDO and the SA Institute of Chartered Accountants. He also serves on a number of Boards, audit and risk committees in an independent non-executive capacity and until very recently, was the Chairman of Country Club, Johannesburg, where he has been on the committee for 8 years.

Robert Lindsey Shaw

Robert started his career as a trainee in Munich Reinsurance Company in 1972 where, over a period of 13 years, he rose to the position of Senior Manager, being one of three in the company's Executive Committee. He has been instrumental in setting up 20 insurance companies in Southern Africa, as well as setting up insurers for South African groups in Botswana and Lesotho. Robert was involved in the original draft of the Namibian Short-Term Insurance Act and set up the National Special Risks Insurance Association in the territory at the time. whilst managing his other insurance business interests, Robert was the African Representative of the Hannover Reinsurance Group for 14 years until 1999 when he proposed the merger of his portfolio with that of the Hollandia Reinsurance Group Limited (whose name then changed to Hannover Re Africa Limited). Since 1 March 2008 Robert has been actively involved in consulting to insurance companies via his own company, Anslow Management Consultants (Proprietary) Limited.

Lourens Erasmus Louw

Lourens studied at the University of Stellenbosch, after which he moved to Johannesburg and qualified as a member of the SA Institute of Stockbrokers. In 1996 Lourens was appointed financial director and compliance officer of stock broking firm Irish & Menell Rosenberg (Pty) Ltd and its successors in the Appleton Group. He remained with Appleton until June 2003 when he joined Conduit Capital. Lourens became the financial director of Conduit Capital in October 2004.
